Karmen McMillan is a Licensed Social Worker (LMSW) who entered the mental health field after raising two children, and working in the corporate world as a bank vice-president. Ms. McMillan received both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from Wayne State University, and has worked with many different populations, loving them all. In a home based setting she has worked with families addressing parenting issues, family dynamics and family preservation. In addition, she has worked extensively with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, trauma, and grief and loss focusing on healing and recovery in order to help individuals return to wholeness. She also has extensive experience in working with disorders relating to anxiety, depression, PTSD, and panic disorders. Realizing that healing and real change is found in Jesus Christ, she returned to school and obtained a Master’s of Arts Degree in Religion for Pastoral Counseling at Liberty Baptist Seminary in Lynchburg, Virginia in 2014 in order to integrate a Biblical approach to psychotherapy and healing. Ms. McMillan has a passion for marriage and the impact they have on individuals, children, and the community. She considers it a privilege to be able to partner with families to work through their concerns in order to build strong families.
