Dr. Justin Oh-Lee
PhD, LLMSW, CAADC
Justin Oh-Lee is a Limited Licensed Social Worker (LLMSW) who received his Ph.D. in Psychology (Behavioral Neuroscience) from UCLA, Los Angeles, CA, and his Master’s degree in Social Work from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, MI. Dr. Oh-Lee received his Bachelor’s degree from Colorado College, and has completed his post-doctoral training at the National Institutes of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), NIH, Bethesda, MD.
Dr. Oh-Lee has published over forty peer-reviewed journal articles in the area of neurodegeneration, memory, and metacognition. As a former university professor, Dr. Oh-Lee has a long and successful history of working with students of all ages (elementary to college) and helping them succeed in and out of the classroom to become life-long learners and scholars. His recent focus has been cognitive and behavioral psychotherapy in treatments for substance use disorder, and he completed his training to be certified as an advanced alcohol and drug counselor (CAADC).
Prior to joining Renewal, he worked as substance abuse group therapy facilitator; worked with individuals with intellectual disability, serious emotional challenges, and seizure disorder; provided education/lecture about brain-based disorders; and held an appointment as director of recovery ministry at a local church in mid-Michigan. Dr. Oh-Lee has exceptional track record of treatment success with diverse client population in all aspects of counseling processes with emphasis in substance abuse, behavioral/process addiction, depression, anxiety, trauma, and cognitive impairment treatment. Dr. Oh-Lee has been consistently passionate about and dedicated to client recovery and wellness. He also has training in mindfulness meditation and inner healing process, and has demonstrated success in producing positive and meaningful changes in client’s lives through employing balanced life perspectives of individuals, family/couples engagement, and emotional/spiritual inner healing.
Dr. Oh-Lee has been married for over 20 years. He is dedicated to his family and is engaged in many hours of service to enrich his community by participating in church outreach program, educational speaking engagement, and mutual support group organizations among others.
